2. Who is responsible for your data

The person named in section 1 is the controller for the personal data described below (“we”, “Hetherna”). You can reach us at hello@hetherna.com about anything in this notice.

We have not appointed a data protection officer. Given the very limited scale of the processing described here, one is not required under Swiss law or under GDPR Art. 37.

3. What we collect and why

Waitlist sign-up

If you enter your email address into the “first access” form, we collect and store that email address. Nothing else. We do not ask for your name, and we do not record which pages you looked at before signing up.

• Purpose: to notify you when Hetherna launches, and to send occasional updates about the product's development.
• Legal basis: your consent — GDPR Art. 6(1)(a); Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) Art. 6 and Art. 31.
• Retention: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, and in any case no longer than 24 months from collection if the product has not launched by then.
• If you don't provide it: nothing happens, other than that we cannot contact you at launch. The form is entirely optional.

We do not profile you, we do not enrich your address with data from other sources, and we do not sell, rent or share it for anyone else's marketing.

Server logs

Our hosting provider records standard technical information whenever a page is requested — IP address, timestamp, the file requested, the referring page and the browser user agent. This is generated automatically by the web server and is necessary to operate and secure the site (legal basis: legitimate interests, GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). These logs are held by the hosting provider under its own retention schedule. We do not analyse them, do not link them to waitlist addresses, and do not use them to build any profile of visitors.

Spam protection

The sign-up form is protected by hCaptcha. hCaptcha analyses technical signals from your browser — including IP address, device and browser characteristics, and interaction data — to decide whether you are a human, and may set cookies for that purpose. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in preventing automated abuse of the form, GDPR Art. 6(1)(f). See the hCaptcha privacy policy and terms of service.

4. Cookies and tracking

Hetherna sets no analytics, advertising or profiling cookies. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, no session recording and no cross-site tracking on this site. The web fonts are served from our own server, so loading this page sends no request to Google or to any font CDN.

The only cookies that may be set are those placed by hCaptcha for the anti-abuse purpose described above. If we later add analytics, advertising, a chat widget or an embedded video, this section will be updated and a consent banner will most likely become necessary.

5. Who else processes your data

We use the following providers. Each processes personal data only for the purpose stated.

The inbox that receives waitlist notifications is the mailbox behind hello@hetherna.com. Your address is stored there for as long as the retention period above.

6. International transfers

Some of the providers above operate outside Switzerland and the EEA, including in the United States and India. Where personal data is transferred to those countries, the transfer takes place on the basis of each provider's own data processing terms, which incorporate the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, the Swiss addendum to them. You can ask us which safeguards apply to a specific provider and we will tell you.

7. Your rights

Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection and, where it applies to you, the EU General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to:

• ask what personal data we hold about you and receive a copy of it;
• have inaccurate data corrected;
• have your data deleted;
• ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to a particular use;
• receive the data you gave us in a portable, machine-readable format;
• withdraw your consent to the waitlist at any time — this does not affect the lawfulness of anything we did before you withdrew it.

To exercise any of these, email hello@hetherna.com. We will respond within 30 days. Every email we send you also carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes your address from the waitlist.

If you believe we have handled your data unlawfully you can complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, edoeb.admin.ch) or, if you are in the EEA, to the supervisory authority where you live or work.

8. Security

The site is served over HTTPS, so what you type into the form is encrypted in transit. Access to the inbox that receives waitlist submissions is limited to the person named in section 1 and is protected by two-factor authentication.

9. Children

This site and the waitlist are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their data, email us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice as the product and our providers change. The version in force is always the one published here, with the revision date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use data you have already given us, we will email waitlist subscribers before it takes effect.
